About Dr. Kaba

Background
Dr. Riyaz Kaba is a leading consultant cardiologist and cardiac electrophysiologist in London, U.K. Having graduated and then trained in London, he has over 25 years of experience in caring for and treating patients with various cardiovascular conditions. His patients include VIPs from the Middle East, Europe and Asia.
He is a well-renowned academic cardiologist who regularly travels worldwide to share his knowledge and experience in cutting-edge techniques and technologies. He leads a team of researchers and is the Chief Investigator of the highly anticipated randomised, multi-center HALT AF trail (see list of publications). Indeed, on March 18, 2025 he became the first operator in the U.K. to treat a patient using the state-of-the-art Opal HDxTM integrated imaging-mapping-ablation system with FarawaveTM Nav & FaraviewTM technologies. Since then, he has performed three further first-in-U.K cases. In 2012, he was one of the first operators in the world to implant and publish research on the state-of-the-art quadripolar LV lead in a patient with scar-related advanced heart failure (see publications).
Dr. Kaba holds a number of prestigious positions, including with the National Institute for Health and Care Research, U.K. He frequently receives invitations to chair sessions and present his research across Europe (Napoli, Vietri sul Mare, Paris, Berlin, Brussels, Amsterdam, Essen, Milan, across the U.K.), the Middle East (Medinah, Riyadh, Doha), the Far East (Japan) and Africa (Khartoum, prior to the current civil war). In June 2025, Dr. Kaba was privileged to co-hosted an International Summit in London, U.K.
Dr. Kaba leads a team of researchers at City St. George’s, University of London and publishes numerous scientific articles every year, including in the foremost medical journals: Nature Genetics and The Lancet. He has received prestigious international awards, such as from the European Society of Cardiology and NASPE (Heart Rhythm Society, USA).
He is multilingual and passionate about teaching and training. He continues to host overseas cardiology trainees, who have successfully completed their fellowships, including the prestigious EHRA/ESC fellowship, under his guidance.
